My Word for 2021
Are you one of those people who create a word for the year? Well if not let me encourage you to think about doing it this year. I am one of those people who over the last few years of ministry have created a word of the year for my ministry and my life. Let me share with you three reasons to have a word of the year.
Having a word of the year helps you create a plan or a vision for your year. Choosing a word like I did for example for 2021, KNOWN, helps me focus on one goal for this whole year. I want to be known by God, I want my students to be known by God. I want my students to be known by me and their small group leaders. You get the point. When you have a word it helps you create a vision for the year.
A word of the year creates an achievable goal for you to achieve. Many times we create new years resolutions that we never keep. A word is something that helps you seek towards applying something to your life daily, weekly, and monthly.
Choose a word that challenges you or your ministry, but also makes you a stronger person. Last year I had the word Claim… That challenged me as a person and a pastor to help students claim their faith, campus, and neighborhoods for Christ. Each us need to be challenged throughout the year to work towards something.
Choose a word for 2021 and help it challenge you daily!
