10 Ways to win in a Post Covid Summer
10. Do Ministry this Summer: We have a chance to build relationships with Students this summer and help them engage with each other again. Our Students need each other more than ever.
9. Plan weekly hangouts: Give the students an outlet and way to come and hang out. Not plan events and outings, but give the students ways to hangout.
8. Do mission and outreach events: Gen Z loves the opportunity to serve and give back to things that matter to them. Help them create moments and memories this summer.
7. Summer Camp is a must: Whether we are talking about Summer Camp in Hybrid model or full fledge Summer Camp, we must do something this summer. Teenagers are hungrier than ever before. We must offer Summer Camp!
6. Prayer Stations: Set Up a place or a moment where students can go through prayer stations. Some ideas would be for: covid, nations, missions, state, city, schools, ministry, and the 21-22 academic year.
5. Response moments: Set Up pads of paper I use 25x35 sheets of paper and have students work through stations or moments that I have preplanned for them. For example I have students walk into our youth building in silence and have rooms set up for them to work through as they pray, worship, think about missions and nations, and write down responses to different topics.
4. Rebuild or Start Fresh ideas: We are in a new season which means it is time to rebuild or bring fresh ideas to the table. Do not hold back and nothing is off the table anymore. Meet with your team and start dreaming big.
3. Volunteer Building: Use this summer to build and grow up your volunteers. Spend time with them, do lunch, build relationships, and invest in your leaders this summer.
2. Leadership Meetings: Meet and plan with leaders in the church. Figure out ways that each of you can work together this year for the vision of the church.
1. Read and Grow as a Pastor/leader: Take this weird Summer of coming out of the craziest year to read and grow. Talk with other leaders and Pastor’s across the nation. See what works and not working right now. 2021 Summer is all yours.
