Last week we began the conversation and thinking through 5 questions to help move the needle in your ministry. Today we will ask questions two through five.
Let us begin by looking at the “Key Win” question and our second question.
2. What do you see as our Key Win this year or season?
Write down your response and keep it in front of you daily. The key win question exists for you to be strategic and also helps your boss see you through a positive lens and perspective.
3. Who am I coaching up to become a stronger leader in our ministry?
It is imperative that you are coaching someone else up within your ministry. I believe that each of your small group leaders need to be coached by you or by a fellow leader in your ministry. For example in my ministry, I coach our male leaders and I have a female volunteer who writes curriculum for our ministry who coaches our female leaders. It is important that we continually raise the bar for ourselves and our leaders.
4. Since I now know my Key Win what do I need to change in my ministry to accomplish the Key Win?
In this moment take your time and decide what needs to be scrapped and what needs to become your main focus. It might mean that your order of worship needs to change, but it could also mean that an event is canceled to make room for something else in your ministry that helps you to accomplish the Key Win.
5. How can I communicate our Key Win to our staff and volunteers?
Your Key Win is not effective if you never apply it within your ministry. Your team of volunteers need to know the plan and win. I share with my volunteers my bite size wins and my king size wins. We celebrate wins, but the key for my team is that they know the Key Win and they can help move our ministry towards the win.
No matter where you are in your ministry right now, I believe that these 5 questions will move your ministry to the next level. In my own experience the needle has moved and our leaders now see their voice being heard. Also celebration leads to success.
