Solid Mission
Over the summer as a ministry we have seen God move in different ways. The summer began with us talking about Jesus overflowing in our lives throughout the summer. In particular we looked at not filling our jar, referring to our lives with junk that leaves little room for Jesus. Then we either went to middle school or high school camp for an experience that can only be explained that God moves in amazing ways when we are obedient.
At Summer Camp we focused on the theme of being Solid and looked at moving from Head knowledge to putting into practice Godly principals. We saw our students go from death to life and stagnant to active faith in Jesus Christ. In today’s third installment of our Solid Blog Series I want to look at having a Solid Mission.
I am not sure how many of you (our readers) go out of town during the summer for a vacation, but let us assume that many if not all of you went on vacation for a week to just get away from everyday life. We are now moving back into the dreaded part of the year, school. I know many people are not excited to be back into school or about to start school for other people. But when school gets back into action again it seems like our ministries kick into the next speed. Today I want to provide you a tool instead of having you read a blog.
I hope that in this blog you will be challenged to create a similar plan for your own ministry.
Every day, teenagers across the World use their phones for reaching out to people with selfies, pictures, and tweets. Social media sometimes gets a bad reputation, but what if we took to our social media apps and turned them into a mission field for seven days.
That is the plan and the set-up for Online Missions Trip resource for each of you. I have come up with a seven-day plan that truly is achievable for you as a student to accomplish. Imagine what the week could look like if your students took a mission’s trip online to reach their friends, family, and teammates. Join us through this seven-day journey of Online Missions Trip.
Below I have shown a plan of the seven days.
The Daily Challenge
Day 1: Pray for God to use you/get your heart right for the week
Day 2: Share Bible verses on social media
Day 3: Ask three people how you can pray for them
Day 4: Write a prayer for your school, neighborhood, or our Student Ministry
Day 5: Share your testimony with someone
Day 6: Post Colossians 3:17 on social media and explain what it means to you
Day 7: End the week with inviting a friend or friends to youth or to church
I hope that this resource helps your students and ministry live out a solid mission as they begin going back to school.
