FUN in Student Ministry

Church isn’t always the first place that may come to students’ minds when they hear the word “fun.” However, it is so easy to begin a chain reaction that can change this narrative.

There are two things that will get students to come and bring friends to your Student Ministry; food and fun. When your students are having a good time, making friends, and drinking one too many mountain dews, chances are they will tell their friends about the fun times they have at your youth group. When they are greeted with love and hospitality that fits their age group, it will draw them in and allow them to feel more comfortable.

A season of Discipleship

2 Timothy 2:22 holds a special place in my life. It was through a discipleship engagement that this verse was brought to life for me. That season of discipleship directed by this verse has had such an impact on me that I’ve decided to make it a “ministry verse.” It is basically a “life verse” but chosen specifically for how I operate in ministry.

From Children's to Student's

The transition from children’s ministry to student ministry is not an easy one. It may seem like a very exciting change in the lives of the tweens in your church, but underneath the excitement, your kids are dealing with the anxiety of soon becoming the small fish in a big and unknown sea. It can be very scary, especially for children who may not have older siblings in student ministry already. There are a few things that youth pastors, youth interns, and the church in general can do to make this transition easier for kids and their parents.
